The staff responsible for maintaining the Witbank Dam is no exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to municipal manager Sizwe Mayisela, the purchase marks the first step in a broader initiative aimed at replacing the municipality\u2019s ageing fleet. He explained that the municipality has started this process with the acquisition of 10 bakkies, with plans to expand the fleet by an additional 10 or 20 vehicles by May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis initiative is part of our long-term strategy to replace the old municipal fleet,\u201d said Mayisela. \u201cBy upgrading our vehicles, we aim to respond more effectively to service delivery challenges and provide a higher level of service to the people of eMalahleni.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Mayor Vusi Nhlapho highlighted the significance of this investment during the handover ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThese 10 vehicles are intended to strengthen our service delivery efforts. We firmly believe that they [vehicles] will help us respond more swiftly to community needs,\u201d Mayor Nhlapho stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The mayor also urged residents to report any misuse or negligence involving the vehicles to the relevant authorities, including the office of the municipal manager or the mayor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the municipality\u2019s allocation plan, three bakkies will be sent to the Ga-Nala Unit, another three to the Phola Unit, while the remaining four will stay at the municipal headquarters to support operations.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMALAHLENI \u2013 The eMalahleni Local Municipality has recently purchased 10 brand-new Isuzu bakkies worth R3.5 million to improve service delivery to the people.
