GA-MORWE –<\/strong> Over 100 community members from various villages in the Dr JS Moroka Municipality participated in a 5km fun walk held at Ga-Morwe Stadium by the Department of Arts and Culture as part of the Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience on December 7.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event, led by Dr JS Moroka Municipality Mayor Nomsa Mtsweni, SAPS, and the Department of Health, was supported by various stakeholders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sinah Phahlane (32) from Majakaneng shared her experience of participating and making it to the finish line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis was indeed a fun walk. We walked and danced, created awareness, and had colours thrown at us. It was a joyous day, topped by aerobics. I had fun, and we got medals,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mayor Mtsweni also participated in the walk and completed the 5km distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are saying people need to get off those couches and start walking because it does have health benefits,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2024 Mpumalanga Cultural Xperience, organised by the Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation (DCSR), took place from 28 November to 7 December.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was hosted across four local municipalities in the province under various themes: Comedy Xperience, Carnival Xperience, Kasi Xperience, Soul Session, Choral Xperience, Traditional Xperience, and the Marathon Xperience.
