The event aimed to raise awareness about the devastating impact of GBV and promote a culture of zero tolerance.The walk, which began at Midas and concluded at the Delmas Soccer Ground, drew a large crowd of community members and officials. Participants carried banners and placards bearing messages of hope, solidarity, and defiance against GBV.The Walk for Change is part of a broader effort to mobilize communities against GBV, which has devastating consequences for women, children, and families. The event organizers emphasized the need for collective action, community engagement, and social mobilization to prevent GBV and support survivors.Minkie Makofane, a Social Auxiliary Worker from Tutela Family Care, emphasized the purpose of the walk against gender-based violence. \u201cWe dedicated this walk to children because many children are abused out there, and we aim to raise awareness about protecting the rights of women and children against gender-based violence. We also encourage the police to take the reports we submit to them seriously,\u201d she emphasized.As the 16 Days of Activism campaign unfolds, the Victor Khanye Local Municipality and its partners remain committed to promoting a culture of zero tolerance against GBV.
