DELMAS \u2013 Delly Sithole and Ivy Hlongwane hosted a women\u2019s seminar at Moya\u2019s Kona, focusing on empowering women through self-love and personal growth, on August 10, 2024,. As this was their inaugural seminar, the team plans to make it an annual event during Women\u2019s Month in August. The aim of the event was to unite women and emphasise the importance of self-love before extending love to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ivy Hlongwane, one of the hosts, highlighted the theme of the seminar. \u201cWomen need to understand that they shouldn\u2019t judge each other based on their pasts. Just because someone made mistakes in their past doesn\u2019t define who they are now,\u201d she emphasised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The theme for the day was \u201cThe Past of a Woman Doesn\u2019t Determine Her Future\u201d. \u201cWomen will also learn how to recover and move forward after experiencing setbacks in their lives,\u201d Ivy continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Well-known businesswoman Mapule Gumbi shared insights on starting and succeeding in business. \u201cFirstly, for a business to be successful, one must be focused and clear about what they want. Many people start businesses aiming solely for profit without knowing what to sell. It\u2019s important to sell products you are passionate about. Once your business starts to make a profit, consider learning how to manufacture the products yourself instead of constantly purchasing stock,\u201d she advised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Radio presenter Nomfundo \u201cThe Thick Lady\u201d Zimu spoke on women\u2019s empowerment. \u201cIt\u2019s okay to be a Mbokodo, to cry, and to break down when dealing with trauma. Many black individuals don\u2019t believe in therapy, and it\u2019s often unaffordable, but it is the best way to heal from trauma. Even talking to strangers can help relieve mental burdens,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pastor Thandeka Duma added her thoughts on empowering women. \u201cIf you\u2019ve changed from your past life, don\u2019t expect everyone to immediately embrace your new journey.
