You can use it to secure a loan and more,\u201d said Mtsweni.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mtsweni also emphasized that handing over title deeds is a way of restoring dignity and empowering people with a legacy to leave for their descendants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One attendee, 55-year-old Moses Shabangu from Siyabuswa E, lamented that he has been trying to obtain his title deed for over five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI have lived in Siyabuswa since the 1980s and still don\u2019t have my title deed. I&#8217;m even afraid of extending my house because someone might claim it in the future,\u201d said Shabangu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He expressed hope that with the mayor present, he might finally get the assistance he needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI will be very happy if I can be helped to acquire the title deed so that I can live peacefully with my children and grandchildren,\u201d added Shabangu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many attendees did not receive their title deeds due to the failure to produce relevant documents such as ID documents, letters of authority, affidavits, and death certificates of deceased recipients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Community members are urged to visit municipal offices to check on the status of their title deeds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Caption: Dr JS Moroka Municipality Mayor Nomsa Sanny Mtsweni and MMC Charles Madyibi, Technical Services, attending the title deed handover, with community members present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>SIYABUSWA &#8211; Over 230 title deeds remain uncollected after the Dr JS Moroka Municipality held a title deeds handover on July 18, 2024.
