Two local initiatives, Praise In The Storm and Odrile Foundation, joined hands on June 16 to assist the less fortunate and homeless people in the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Praise In The Storm, a group of young people driven by the vision to build a God-fearing generation, partnered with Odrile Foundation, a non-profit organisation focused on uplifting and empowering the youth and community development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two groups are currently collecting and distributing blankets and food throughout the winter season. “The drive aims to keep people warm and remind them that even in what may seem like a hopeless situation, nothing can separate them from the love of God,” said Mphoentle Tshehla, the organisation’s representative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drive is conducted every year on Youth Day, 16 June. “With June being the month that commemorates the youth of 1976, the initiative aims to showcase today’s youth’s dedication and empathy towards making a positive impact and giving back.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The charitable deed led by the two organisations was born out of the desire to spread love and warmth during the chilly winter season. Members of the organisations have embarked on a journey to help those in need, calling on citizens to make donations as the door remains open.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to Highveld Chronicle<\/em><\/strong>, the organisations indicated that any form of donations would be highly appreciated, including blankets, perishables, clothes, and support. \u201cWith the community’s help, we will be able to assist more homeless individuals and the less fortunate,\u201d Tshehla concluded.
