Situated in Steve Tshwete, the treatment plant supplies water to several areas, including Mhluzi, Newtown, Tokologo, Nasaret, Aerorand, Middelburg, Rockdale, Golfsig, Kanonkop, and Dennesig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane emphasised that a total of 87 872 households stand to gain from the reverse osmosis plant in the municipality. This project is part of a collaboration with the Department of Water and Sanitation and will be implemented through the Regional Bulk Infrastructure Grant. It encompasses refurbishment of the existing plant, continuous backwash filters, a chlorine dosing and storage system, a reservoir with a contact tank, and associated infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the Steve Tshwete municipality, 20 sub-contractors have been engaged, providing employment to 58 locals. The project is structured into three phases, with phase one already completed. Currently, phase two is under construction, having commenced on November 5, 2021.
