Voluble KMS radio sports presenter, Nelly, is close to snatching the R7.5K prize and a one-year ambassadorial contract with South African Talent Extravaganza (SATE) TV if you vote for her as from 1 March to May.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nelly, born Nelisiwe Sibiya 31 years ago in Barberton, is battling to beat the other remaining 25 contestants in the province to bring the SATE coveted award to her hometown, KaMhlushwa, in Mpumalanga. To reach the top 26, Nelly had to use all her acting prowess in the Action category to impress judges and now it is the turn of Nkomazi and Mpumalanga people to ensure that she brings the trophy home by voting for her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can vote as many times as you can to guarantee my win on the 5th<\/sup> of May,\u201d Nelly patiently coaxed the voters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SATE competition or SA Tour competition is open for all provinces in South Africa. It was first staged last year with the inaugural winner being Jaimane King from Northern Cape. SATE\u2019s Thembani Hlatshwayo said, \u201cThe SA Talent Extravaganza is a community talent search organisation dedicated to the growth and development of talent and knowledge through art here in Mzansi.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hlatshwayo added, \u201cWe are here to create some meaningful connections between culture, community groups, talent and audience by offering talent related events, programmes and annual festivals. We conduct most of our events or competition through social media platforms. There is no fee for entering the competitions.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n She said that this year\u2019s grand prize is R7500 cash, one-year contract of being a SATE ambassador and the second prize is R5000 and SATE certificate. \u201cPlease come one, come all and support our contestants,\u201d she urged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Nelly is no stranger to artistic projects. She was on Mbongeni Ngema\u2019s and TK Nsibande\u2019s theatre play called Uthando <\/em>(The Pain) not so long ago and featured in Lucy Maseko\u2019s Nkomazi-based drama, Mpumelelo<\/em> (Prosperity). \u201cMy late school teacher, LT Ngcane, was the one who encouraged me to pursue acting as my career,\u201d she disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Growing up as an orphan, life was not easy for her. \u201cI always wanted to do something meaningful that will uplift my life whilst it\u2019s something I am passionate about. And acting is that thing. Thanks to the support I get from my husband, children, friends, relatives and the whole community,\u201d she said emotionally. \u201cAll I am asking is the support from Nkomazi, Mpumalanga, municipalities, government, local businesses and friends,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou can support me by voting or buying SMS bundles that will be distributed to individuals to vote for me. Last year the inaugural trophy was won by the Northern Cape and this year together we can bring it hear in Mpumalanga.
